Day 2. Stunning Waterfalls - Black Beaches - Glaciers and Volcanoes

Your personal guide will pick you up in the morning and you will start your Icelandic adventure. The first stop is Hveragerđi, a small town with many steaming vents and where hot spring water is used for heating greenhouses. Next you will stop at two majestic waterfalls – Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. Depending on weather conditions it is possible to walk behind Seljalandsfoss waterfall. As you visit the waterfalls you will pass the infamous Eyjafjallajökull Glacier and a volcano that last erupted in 2010. On your way to the small town of Vík you will visit the stunning black lava beach with Reynisdrangar Pinnacles. As you continue further east, you will visit the impressive Fjađrárgljúfur Canyon and Kirkjugólfiđ (The Church floor) - a protected natural monument just east of Kirkjubćjarklaustur. Kirkjugólfiđ's basalt columns have been eroded and shaped by wind and water, but they look man-made. In the evening, if the weather conditions allow, you can head out on a hunt for northern lights on your own. Ask your guide to provide you with northern lights forecast information.

Day 3. Skaftafell National Park - Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon

Today you will continue further east across Skeiđarársandur, a black sand desert, washed down by the numerous glacial rivers that originate at the nearby Vatnajökull Glacier, the largest in Europe, and the place where a sub-glacial eruption took place in the Grímsvötn Volcano, beneath Vatnajökull Icecap in 2011. The powerful eruption quickly broke the ice cover of the glacier and began spewing ash into the air in a magnificent display. You will visit Skaftafell National Park, a tranquil paradise at the foot of Vatnajökull Glacier. Your guide will show you some of the most interesting sites at the park, such as the picturesque Svartifoss waterfall. After exploring Skaftafell you will head to Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon which is considered by many to be the greatest natural sight in the country and where huge icebergs float in the crystal clear lagoon. After all the sightseeing you will head back to Hella area for an overnight stay. Your guide will let you know in the evening if the conditions are right for a Northern Lights hunt.

Day 4. Volcanic Crater - Geysers - The Golden Waterfall - Ţingvellir National Park

You will head inland for the famous Golden Circle route, first stopping at the impressive Keriđ Volcanic Crater, then further inland to Faxi Waterfall. Your next stop will be the Geysir Geothermal area with various kinds of hot springs and the famous geysers Strokkur and Geysir. Strokkur is an active geyser that spouts boiling hot water 15 to 20 meters up in the air every few minutes. Only a short distance from the Geysir geothermal area you will find the majestic and impressive Gullfoss, also known as The Golden Waterfall, which is one of the largest waterfalls in Iceland. Next you will continue to Ţingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the place where the Icelandic Parliament was established in 930. It is located on the spot where two continental plates meet creating a fascinating rift valley. Ţingvellir is hauntingly beautiful, despite its rugged lunar-like landscapes. Then, across the Mosfellsheiđi Heath head back to Reykjavík.
