Itinerary

A study in contrasts is featured in this Iceland day tour. We explore the hidden world of the lava tube cave close to Reykjavík. Walking in a cave and discovering the marvels that volcanic activity has created in the past, this is a trip that everyone can undertake. Depending on the season we go either to Leiđarendi Cave or Gjábakkahellir, both caves are typical lava tubes that display the characterizing features that are common for this type of caves.

After our cave visit, we feast on a packed lunch before moving on to the “blue”...

Our “blue” adventure is snorkelling in Silfra, a fissure that is one of Iceland’s best-kept secrets and an otherworldly scene that is famous for its divine shades of blue. You’ll feel weightless as you float down the lazy current in the crystal-clear water. Snorkelling in Silfra is a relaxing but exotic trip in an environment most will only encounter in their dreams.

The Black and Blue is a fantastic trip, a true journey to the borders of reality and dreams.

For the “black” portion of our trip, you will need hiking boots, warm and wind-proof clothing, gloves, warm undergarments (fleece/wool/thermal) and warm socks. Hiking boots and wind-proof jackets and pants can be rented from the tour operator.

Highlights:
