Itinerary

You will be picked up at your accommodation and the drive will start though the Þjórsárdalu Valley. The first stop will be the magnificient Hjálparfoss waterfall. Next you will continue to Ljótipollu volcano crater before heading to the colourful highland paradise – Landmannalaugar. Don´t forget to bring your swimming suit, taking a bath in the natural hot springs is a unique experience. Landmannalaugar is hiker´s paradise, various hiking trails are in the area surrounded by the picteresque rhyolite mountains. On the way back you will visit the queen of Icelandic volcanoes – Mt Hekla. Your driver guide will drive around 950 metres up the side of the volcano to enjoy the beautiful views in all directions. Depending on season and weather conditions, you might be lucky to see either Northern Lights or Midnight Sun.
