You will also visit the black beach at Reynisdrangar and a small, charming town of Vík. On the way to Kirkjubćjarklaustur town you will cross the Mýrdalssandur floodplains and Eldhraun – the most extensive lava field ever to flow on Earth in a historical time. Your guide will tell you about the most interesting spots in the park, one of them is the elegant Svartifoss waterfall. Skaftafell is truly a paradise of shorter and longer hiking trails. After you exploring the beauty of the national park, you will head to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, which is considered by many to be the greatest natural sight in the country where huge icebergs float in the crystal clear lagoon towards the sea. Day 4. Lakagígar Craters

Today your experienced guide will take you on a highland trail to visit the stunning Lakagígar craters. The road to your destination is rough terrain highland trail, it will be quite bumpy ride, but the rewarding scenery at the end will surely make up for that. The spectacular Lakagígar Craters, named after Mt. Laki, are located in an eruption fissure that is 25km long. The craters were formed in an eruption lasting five months and issuing the greatest volume of lava and volcanic material ever in a single eruption; it took place in 1783 and is known to be amongst the most catastrophic volcanic events in human history. There are few wild and rugged natural wonders that equal the beauty of the Laki area. The enormous lava field is now covered with green moss, but the volcanic debris and colourful craters provide the Laki area with a grim, natural beauty. After exploring the lunar-like landscapes, head back to your overnight location in the Hella area.
