Day 2. Stunning Waterfalls - Black Beaches - Glaciers and Volcanoes
You will be picked up by your guide in the morning and you will begin your Icelandic adventure. The first stop of the day will be Hveragerði, a small town with many steaming vents and where hot spring water is used for heating greenhouses. As you will continue to the South Coast you will pass the infamous Eyjafjallajökull Glacier and a volcano that last erupted in 2010. You will stop at two inspiring waterfalls – Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. During the summer time you can take a walk behind the falls of Seljalandsfoss. Your journey will continue to the Dyrhólaey Headland, a natural reserve where many seabirds nest in the summer and the spectacular black beach at the Reynisdrangar Pinnacles on your way to the charming town of Vik, the southernmost town in the country. More stops are about to come across the Mýrdalssandur floodplains and Eldhraun, the most extensive lava field ever to flow on Earth in historical time: town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur, Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon and the Kirkjugólfið (the Church Floor). The Church floor is a protected natural monument of basalt columns that have been eroded and shaped by water and wind, however they do like man-made.

The powerful eruption quickly broke the ice cover of the glacier and began spewing ash into the air in a magnificent display. The first stop will be the Skaftafell National Park, an oasis at the foot of the glacier that is famous for its tranquil, but rugged natural beauty. Your guide will show you some of the most popular sites in the National Park. This is a perfect place for calm and easy hikes. After the National Park you head to Jökulsarlón Glacial Lagoon, considered by many to be the greatest natural sight in the country and where large icebergs float in the crystal clear lagoon. You might even spot some seals in the lagoon. After the scenic adventures you will head back to Hella town and have a good night rest.

After Gullfoss you will be heading to Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the place where the Icelandic Parliament was established in 930.
