First you visit the Þingvellir National Park, which is an UNESCO world heritage site and is full of history and natural beauty. This is the place where the Icelandic Parliament was established in 930. The Mid-Atlantic ridge runs through the national park and forms an impressive rift valley. From Þingvellir continue to Geysir geothermal area where you explore hot springs and geysers. The most powerful, active geyser – Strokkur erupts every 8 minutes or so with such a force that the boiling water jets up to 20 meters into the air. Just a little further from the geothermal area you will find the majestic Gullfoss, also known as the Golden Waterfall – one of Iceland´s most impressive waterfalls. Before heading to your lodging for the night visit the picturesque waterfall Faxi and the impressive volcanic crater – Kerið. By Skógafoss waterfall you´ll find museum called Skógasafn. Continue east visit the glacier tongue Sólheimajökull, which is part of the large Mýrdalsjökull glacier. Before you reach the charming town of Vík visit the black lava beach and basalt columns at Reynisdrangar. Overnight stay in the southernmost town in the country, Vík.
