Akureyri - The Capital of the NorthŚis a cultural and educational centre in North Iceland with a population of about 20000 people, making it the second largest city in Iceland. Akureyri offers a great variety of activities, museums, attractions, shops, restaurants, etc., and is vibrant town, beautifully situated in the tranquil Eyjafj÷rur Fjord where everyone should be able to find something to their liking. In winter skiing at Mt. There are numerous places of interest within a few hours drive from Akureyri. To mention only a few, Waterfall Goafoss, Lake Mřvatn and Dimmuborgir, ┴sbyrgi Canyon, Dettifoss Waterfall and H˙savÝk.
